Third Annual Art of Brooklyn Film Festival: May 15-19, 2013
The 2012 Art of Brooklyn Film Festival was a big success. In our second year, we screened more premieres, had bigger crowds, got great press and made it onto cultural map of Brooklyn in a big way. Filmmakers came from as close as Brooklyn Heights and as far away as Turkey to attend the festival. And cinema fans from all over New York City and beyond made their way to St. Francis College to enjoy our amazing independent films.
In 2013, we’re taking that success and running with it. First, we’re moving the AoBFF from the August to May! We’re very excited about our new Spring time slot and already hard at work planning and promoting.
We’ve opened submissions on Withoutabox; for full info, rules, FAQs and to submit click HERE. Submit your film today… Early Bird rate ends Oct. 15.
If you are a filmmaker living and working in Brooklyn, or can demonstrate a meaningful connection to the borough you are welcome to submit. For example: Your film was shot in Brooklyn, your screenwriter or director was born here, your film is influenced by Brooklyn, etc. (In the past, in addition to Brooklyn born/based filmmakers, we have screened a documentary by an Italian filmmaker about a Hassidic Brooklyn rapper, a Turkish film inspired by Brooklyn’s diversity, and a claymation short by a young animator who was born and raised in Brooklyn, NSW, Australia.)
